dreaming up our new house

Moodboard Magic happening!

Things are getting real — we’re officially moving next month! With moving boxes slowly stacking up and address changes looming, one of the most exciting parts of this new chapter has officially begun: planning the interior design of our new home.

For someone who’s visually driven like me, creating a moodboard is more than just a fun aesthetic exercise — it’s essential. Scrolling Pinterest boards, saving brand images, and curating textures and tones helps me see how everything comes together. It’s a way to feel into the space before even unpacking a single box.

Our new home will be a blend of warmth, simplicity, and subtle boldness. I want it to feel modern yet cozy, minimal but expressive — think natural textures, matte black accents, and warm saffron yellow for just the right amount of pop.

What’s on my moodboard?

  • Color palette: Soft white oak, deep kitchen black, playful saffron yellow, and textural neutrals.

  • Furniture picks: We just ordered a beautiful new couch and timeless dining chairs — light wood with clean lines. They’re not just comfy, but they also anchor the aesthetic I’m envisioning.

  • Materials: Bouclé fabrics, vertical wooden slats for texture on the walls, and herringbone wood floors — dreamy!

  • Lighting: I’m in love with bold, minimal pendant lights. The saffron yellow one adds an artistic, retro punch I didn’t know I needed.

The best part? Seeing it all on one board reassures me that the choices are cohesive. It prevents those random purchases that end up not fitting the vibe (we’ve all been there, right?). With this clear vision, I can move forward intentionally, room by room.

Stay tuned — soon I’ll take you along as the pieces come together in real life. The best is yet to come.

Waves of love, always.
