summer sheets and matcha moments
A Soft Start to the Day
There’s something about the quiet urgency before a season shifts — when you feel the rain coming, not just in the forecast, but in the air. That’s the mood this Saturday carried. We had things to get done before the weather turned, and somehow it all felt like part of a slower rhythm I really needed.
SLow Morning
The day started soft: clean laundry, fresh sheets — I pulled out my favorite summer bedding, light and familiar. It always feels like a reset, even if it's just fabric and timing. To mark the moment, I made an iced matcha latte with fresh strawberries. Not fancy, not for show — just something for myself. I’ve been carrying a lot lately, and it felt like a tiny act of joy to hold onto.
Garden Work Before the Rain
Later, we headed to the house to keep building out the garden. It’s still early stages, but we’ve started putting in drainage and mulch. There’s a bit of a race against time — rain is expected soon, and we needed to get the foundation in place. The work is physical, but in the best way. Earth under your nails, fresh air in your lungs, small progress you can feel. I actually love to work outside during summertime because I feel like I fully appreciated the warmer weather.
A Sushi Treat and a Cozy Ending
Afterward, I changed quickly at home and decided to treat myself. Picked up sushi from my favorite local spot (the kind you know will always taste like comfort) and we drove over to my boyfriend’s mum’s house. We shared food, chatted, and just let the day settle in its own way.
The Days That Hold You Together
By the end of it, I felt like I’d done something that mattered — even if it was simple. Even if it was just sheets and sushi and soil.

Waves of love, always.
