A Weekend to Remember – Family, Fresh Nails & Celebrations
There’s something special about slow weekends that unfold without pressure. This past one was exactly that — filled with gentle moments, salty air, and small joys that linger a little longer in the heart.
My sister-in-law and niece came to visit, and it felt like a breath of warmth. We didn’t rush. Just let the days carry us gently, from coffee cups in the morning sun to night swims in the water.
One of the highlights was visiting the Emder Matjestage, our local fish festival. The air smelled like sea breeze and fried treats, and the harbor buzzed with families and laughter. It’s one of those places where time slows down, and all you need is a fish roll in hand and someone you love by your side.
Back home, we lit a bonfire by the sea and had a quiet BBQ — just us, some Stockbrot over the fire, and the sound of waves meeting the coast. It’s in those moments, when the sky turns soft and everyone’s cheeks are a little pink from the wind, that I feel most grounded.
I also made time for myself — a fresh rose-toned nail color that feels like June bottled up, and a visit to the hairdresser. Nothing big, just a little consultation… but something exciting is in the works for August. I’ll share more when the time is right.
To round it all off, we celebrated a dear friend’s 30th birthday. Laughter, breakfast, and that familiar glow of being surrounded by people you like — it was beautiful.
These kinds of weekends remind me why I started documenting life in the first place. It’s not about grand adventures, but about finding the quiet magic in everyday things. Have fun watching my vlog on YouTube.
Waves of love, always.
