Baby blue working days
A Job Between Sky and Sea
There’s something about the color of the sky at the coast—it’s not just blue, it’s baby blue. Soft, endless, and full of promises. That’s the kind of sky I often find myself under during my working days at the airport. It’s not your average airport—this one hugs the coast, breathes salt air, and carries with it a sense of freedom that never really fades.
What I love about my job here isn’t just the international business I get to work with, the exciting logistics and cultures that fly in and out daily. It’s something more. It’s the spontaneous chance to hop on a plane and fly out to one of the islands. Just like that. One moment I’m immersed in planning and schedules, and the next, I’m soaring above the coastline.
And let me tell you—there is nothing more magical than flying over the North Sea, with sun-drenched beaches and the shimmering water stretching out beneath you. Every flight feels like the first. Each time I look out of the window, I see something new. The Wadden Sea shifts its patterns like a living painting—rivers of water weaving through sandbanks. Seals lazily sunbathe, birds dance in flocks, and tiny figures walk the seemingly untouched stretches of beach below.
Protecting the Beauty We Call Home
Those little human silhouettes always make me pause. I find myself thinking: Do they know how lucky they are to walk here? I truly hope they treat this landscape with the same love and respect that I feel in every cell of my body. No garbage left behind, no careless footprints. Just presence. Just awe.
Because this place—my home—deserves to be protected from human impact. Its beauty is fragile, even if it feels eternal. And I wish for everyone who gets to experience it, from the sky or the sand, to treat it like the treasure it is.
Waves of love, always.
